Breaking the Stigma: Mental Health Crisis Training Returns to Reno in Hybrid Format

As rates of mental health crises continue to climb, especially among marginalized communities, it's more important than ever to equip professionals, advocates, and everyday individuals with the tools to effectively respond and support those in need. That’s why Tangible Movement is proud to host our next Mental Health Crisis Training (MHCT)—a full-day, hybrid workshop taking place on Wednesday, May 6th, 2025, both in-person at TMCC and virtually via live stream. Whether you're a social worker, clinician, educator, first responder, student, or simply someone passionate about mental health, this training offers a unique opportunity to gain 5 CEU credits, enhance your knowledge, and connect with professionals and lived experience experts who are making a difference every day.

🔍 What You’ll Learn:

Throughout this full-day workshop, you'll receive comprehensive training in crisis response, including:

  • Understanding mental health conditions

  • Addressing LGBTQ+ mental health disparities

  • Suicide prevention & postvention strategies

  • Schizophrenia and immersive “hearing voices” simulation

  • Working with the 988 crisis line

  • Crisis de-escalation and active listening

  • Mobile crisis response in action (MOST Team presentation)

Led by a diverse lineup of experts, including therapists, crisis line professionals, university faculty, and peer support advocates, this workshop bridges clinical knowledge with real-world experience to create a deeply impactful learning experience.
